Over 20,000 spectators from all over the country flocked to the square on Sam Son beach to attend the Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival 2018, which took place on the evening of April 21st and was broadcast live on Thanh Hoa television.
This is the first year Sam Son has organized a beach tourism festival since becoming a city. Therefore, the 2018 Beach Tourism Festival, themed "Aspiration of a Young City," conveys to the audience and tourists a message about a vibrant and ambitious young coastal city, a city that, though young, has been enriched by millennia of history, boasting beautiful natural landscapes and sacred landmarks steeped in legend.
Stage director Le Hai Yen, who also developed the script, said that she had thoroughly researched Sam Son and wanted to present at the festival an image of Sam Son full of youthful energy and rapid, powerful development today, but still imbued with age-old historical values and sacred legends.
Audiences were thrilled with the unique performances at the Sam Son City Tourism Festival.
Right from the start of the program, the Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival captivated thousands of spectators, who couldn't stop taking photos and videos with their phones, thanks to an interactive dance performance using mesmerizing 3D mapping technology called "Blue Ocean." Director Le Hai Yen boldly used moving 3D mapping technology on an outdoor stage, despite the strong winds on Sam Son beach, creating an optimal effect comparable to that of a theater, leaving the audience incredibly excited.
From the image of the vast ocean, the program begins with the story of the "legend of the sea" to tell the story of Sam Son in history. That history is brought to life with grandeur and majesty through the voice of male singer Tung Duong with the song "Echoes of Sam Son" (composed by Pham Khanh Bang), a new composition specifically for the festival.
Through the song, the audience embarks on a journey to explore Sam Son, a land steeped in age-old traditions and steeped in the values of Thanh Hoa province, a land of outstanding people and rich history. And, amidst this pride, the legends of Sam Son emerge, majestic and sacred, with stories passed down from generation to generation by the local people.
In the performance by singer Tan Nhan, singing a song about the legend of the Rooster and Hen Islet, a combination of dance and aerial acrobatics left the audience mesmerized. Amidst the vast ocean, the pair of lovebirds, symbols of the Rooster and Hen Islet, soared like a dream, telling the audience a story of love and eternal fidelity.
Following the story of the Rooster and Hen Islet, a famous destination in Sam Son, the musical performance "Legend of the One-Legged God" takes viewers on a historical journey to learn about the famous One-Legged God. With the interaction of 3D graphics and dance, the musical performance recreates the story of the One-Legged God who protected the people of the sea from sea monsters, helping the people of Sam Son live peacefully and safely on their fishing trips for generations. This is also why the One-Legged God Temple is a popular stop for tourists visiting Sam Son.
Many Sam Son residents shared that this was the first time the Sea Tourism Festival had such a vibrant atmosphere. Spectators stayed to watch the program until the very last moment, with no one leaving their seats, including the elderly and young children.
And the art night of the festival concluded with a spectacular low-altitude fireworks display lasting nearly half an hour. Young spectators also flocked to the stage area, dancing to the music, quickly transforming Sam Son Square into a giant dance party. A youthful energy truly enveloped the seaside city, vibrant and dynamic.
